Hays Supply Chain & Logistics is partnering with a large, complex industrial organisation to recruit an experienced Demand Planner on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. This is an urgent backfill within a central demand planning team supporting the ANZ portfolio.Reporting to the Demand Manager, you will be responsible for end‑to‑end demand planning for a high‑revenue Home Solutions portfolio within a structured, cyclical planning framework.
You will work closely with supply planners, finance, replan analysts and commercial stakeholders to deliver accurate, defendable forecasts that support strong service and inventory outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
Owning the weekly demand planning cycle within a four‑week forecasting cadence.
Developing, maintaining and challenging demand forecasts using Kinaxis.
Leveraging AI/ML baseline forecasts and measuring value‑add and forecast accuracy (including M‑3 metrics).
Managing demand impacts from promotions, projects, new product introductions and lifecycle changes.
Leading demand inputs into SIOP / IBP reviews and forums.
Analysing forecast variances, performing root‑cause analysis and driving corrective actions.
Providing high‑quality demand signals to supply planning teams to support capacity and inventory decisions.
Producing insights and analysis using SAP and advanced Excel.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will bring current, hands‑on demand planning experience and be comfortable operating in a fast‑moving, stakeholder‑rich environment.
You will ideally have:
Recent and active experience in Demand Planning or Forecasting.
Strong Excel and numerical analysis skills (Excel assessment forms part of the process).
Proven capability with Kinaxis and SAP ERP.
Exposure to AI/ML‑driven forecasting and structured accuracy measurement frameworks.
Confidence challenging and defending forecast assumptions with senior stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills and a mature, commercially focused approach.
The ability to ramp up quickly and add value immediately.
