Permanent position for a workshop‑based manufacturing role in Melbourne's South East

You’ll be joining a well-established technology and manufacturing operation located in Melbourne’s South East, specialising in the production of high-quality hose assemblies and hydraulic solutions. Supporting customers across a wide range of industries, the business is known for precision, safety, and reliability. Your new role

As a Hose Assembly Operative, you’ll support workshop operations by assembling and preparing hose products in line with work instructions and quality standards. Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 3:30pm
Duties include:
  • Measuring and cutting hoses using workshop equipment
  • Assembling hose components and fittings to specification
  • Operating crimping and hydraulic equipment (training provided)
  • Assisting with pressure testing of completed assemblies
  • Using a variety of hand and power tools safely and accurately
  • Reading and carefully following work instructions and job sheets
  • Assisting with stock handling, hose kits, and order preparation.
  • Completing basic job records and documentation

What you'll need to succeed

  • 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing, production, or workshop environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on approach
  • Confident use of hand and power tools
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and consistently
  • Hose assembly or hydraulic exposure (desired)
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and follow work instructions (desired)
  • Forklift licence (advantageous, not essential)
