A well‑regarded Western Australian State Government organisation is seeking an experienced Data Analyst (Level 4) to join their Analytics & Business Intelligence function on an initial contract through to August 2026.
Your new role
Reporting into a central analytics function, you will play a key role in ensuring data visualisation, business intelligence and advanced analytics are effectively applied across the organisation. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and delivering dashboards, reports and insights using Power BI and Excel
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to gather, structure and analyse data for reporting purposes
- Supporting initiatives that improve data asset management, governance and product outcomes
- Applying future‑focused analytics approaches such as predictive modelling, machine learning or NLP where appropriate
- Communicating complex and technical information clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences
- Maintaining accurate records within corporate information systems and document repositories
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Strong experience with Power BI and Excel (Power Platform exposure highly regarded)
- Proven analytical, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving capability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing
- Demonstrated ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders and understand diverse business needs
- Experience delivering business intelligence solutions aligned to organisational frameworks and policies
Highly regarded:
- Experience with design thinking, facilitation of working groups, and governance frameworks
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Exposure to project or operational service delivery environments
- Experience using Microsoft Copilot
