Your new company
You will be joining a large, established firearms and sports shooting organisation with operations across the state. The organisation operates within a highly regulated environment that places strong emphasis on safety, compliance and good governance. It offers long-term stability, a clear mission, and a professional workplace culture grounded in accountability and integrity. Work alongside passionate, down-to-earth people who love what they do and will support you to be successful.
Your new role
Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, this role sits at the intersection of finance, governance and executive support. You will manage the full finance function including monthly and annual reporting, budgeting, forecasting, payroll and compliance, while also acting as the secretariat for the Board and key committees. This role is a blend of senior finance and hands-on day-to-day accounts. This is a senior, trusted role, contributing directly to informed decision-making and organisational sustainability within a regulated firearms and sporting context.
What you'll need to succeed
As a qualified Accountant, you will bring strong in-house accounting experience, sound knowledge of Australian accounting standards and the confidence to operate in a compliance-driven environment. The role suits someone highly organised, detail oriented and comfortable managing sensitive information. Experience supporting Boards or committees is highly regarded, as is an understanding of governance, risk and regulatory obligations. An appreciation of firearms, sports shooting such as hunting or experience at the shooting range would certainly align you well to this organisation's culture and passions. They use MYOB and will soon be implementing XERO across all entities, so experience with these systems would help your application.
What you'll get in return
You will step into a visible, autonomous role with genuine influence and breadth, well beyond a transactional finance position. The organisation offers stability, senior stakeholder access and the opportunity to work closely with leadership on commercial, governance and strategic matters. You will be trusted as a key professional within an organisation that values quality, purpose and long-term commitment. It is paying above market salaries, and will give you stable tenure. Please note before applying, they would like the successful candidate to be in the office five days a week.
