Your new role
As the Cloud Manager, you will lead the day‑to‑day operations of a growing Technical Operations team. This is a hands‑on leadership role, but you will still need the technical depth to guide, challenge and support your engineers—particularly in AWS.
Managing a team of six (from experienced engineers through to junior and graduate talent), you’ll oversee cloud operations, ensure system stability, and uplift best‑practice processes across the environment. You’ll collaborate closely with DevOps and development teams, support key cloud‑based platforms, and contribute to architectural decisions around how systems are built and improved.
You’ll also drive innovation, uplift operational maturity, and play a key role in shaping cloud capability as the organisation moves deeper into DevOps, automation and modern tooling.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience managing or leading a technical team, ideally within cloud, infrastructure or operations.
- Hands‑on background with AWS cloud, with the ability to guide technical decisions, mentor engineers and make informed choices around capability and cost optimisation.
- Strong operational support experience and familiarity with cloud‑based environments.
- A passion for technology, problem‑solving and driving continuous improvement.
- Ability to develop and maintain scalable processes, operational frameworks and best practices.
- Experience influencing technical direction and contributing to architectural decision‑making.
- Strong stakeholder management, leadership capability and the confidence to act as an escalation point.
- Solid understanding of modern IT operational processes, governance and service delivery.
