This position is located in Charters Towers within a People & Culture directorate in a large regional organisation. You will play a key role in delivering consistent, accurate and timely HR services, while supporting leadership teams with high‑quality advice across all stages of the employee lifecycle. Your new role
As the Senior Human Resources Advisor, you will:
- Provide informed, professional HR advice to executives, managers, and people leaders across the full employee lifecycle.
- Lead the delivery of contemporary HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, establishment management, investigations, grievances, performance matters and case management.
- Coach, mentor, and develop HR Advisors to build capability and ensure high‑quality service delivery.
- Support and advise on complex industrial relations matters, including disputes, disciplinary processes, union consultation, grievances, and termination of employment.
- Drive the development, implementation and continuous improvement of HR systems, policies, procedures, and frameworks.
- Contribute to certified agreement negotiation processes under the direction of senior leadership.
- Liaise with internal specialists, legal representatives, and advisors to prepare research, provide recommendations, and support organisational decision‑making.
- Lead and manage HR‑related projects, including policy reviews, system enhancements, audits, and improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety obligations, reporting requirements, and due diligence responsibilities.

We’re looking for someone who brings:
- Strong experience across contemporary human resources practices, with the ability to support leaders through the full employee lifecycle.
- Confidence partnering with executives and managers, backed by exceptional communication, consultation and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated capability interpreting industrial instruments, employment legislation and HR policy frameworks.
- Proven experience managing complex employee and industrial relations matters, including investigations, grievances and disputes.
- High‑level analytical, conceptual and problem‑solving skills, enabling you to contribute to policy development and strategic HR initiatives.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within required timeframes.
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline, or substantial equivalent experience.
- A current Queensland C‑Class Driver Licence.
- Desirable experience in local government or with TechnologyOne.
