Your new role
As the System Operations Manager, you will be accountable for the real-time operational control, security and resilience of the electricity network. You will lead a critical function responsible for system security, operational risk, emergency response and the safe integration of new assets and schemes into live service.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing strategic leadership and governance of system operations.
Acting as the operational authority for commissioning, energisation and acceptance of new and modified assets.
Leading operational readiness, real‑time control and emergency incident response for major network events.
Overseeing the performance, uplift and operational strategy of SCADA, ADMS and related control systems.
Ensuring data quality, operational suitability and system integrity across network operational datasets.
Building and developing a high‑performing operational workforce and managing future capability needs.
What you'll need to succeed
Senior experience in real-time electricity network operations, including system security and emergency response.
Strong technical understanding of network infrastructure, protection, control and field operations.
Proven authority in commissioning, asset acceptance and integration of complex network systems.
Experience with SCADA, ADMS or equivalent control platforms and operational data requirements.
Demonstrated leadership capability, including workforce development, succession planning and operational culture uplift.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and decision‑making skills in high‑risk, regulated environments.
Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline (desirable).
