Your new company
This State Government agency, which provides expert guidance on capital projects and focusses on developing, delivering and maintaining infrastructure in partnership with stakeholders for the benefit of the community, is seeking an APS6 equivalent Governance Coordinator to join one of the teams due to recent staff movements. Your new role supports cultural programs, organisational pathways work and governance functions in a dynamic environment. You will provide strategic coordination, governance oversight and executive support across a range of cultural and pathways initiatives. You will work with senior leaders, internal stakeholders and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander partners to support outcomes that strengthen organisational capability and culture.
Your new role
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Deliver high-level support to senior officers, including preparation of briefing materials and coordination of priority tasks.
- Lead the drafting, coordination and quality assurance of executive briefs, ministerial briefs, submissions and correspondence.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee governance processes across documentation, workflows and record management.
- Prepare agendas, minutes and action tracking for governance and executive meetings.
- Support financial processes such as procurement, accounts payable and expenditure reconciliation.
- Work closely with administrative teams to improve consistency, service delivery and operational outcomes.
- Support business improvement projects focused on governance, performance and accountability.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have previous experience in a similar role and in a government setting. You will also have:
- Strong experience preparing high‑quality written material for senior executives or Ministers.
- Experience working with confidential information in fast-paced settings.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage competing priorities with independence and sound judgement.
- Understanding of ethical responsibilities including privacy and conflict of interest.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
