You’ll be joining a well-established Managed Service Provider based in the Sydney CBD, specialising in Microsoft Cloud–first solutions. The business supports a diverse portfolio of small to mid-sized clients across Australia, delivering end-to-end IT services including cloud migrations, security uplift programs, modern workplace solutions, and ongoing managed support.
Your new role
As a L3 Support Engineer , you’ll play a critical role in supporting, maintaining, and improving client environments across Microsoft on‑prem and cloud technologies. This is a hands-on role that goes beyond reactive support – you’ll be involved in escalations, problem management, solution design, and continuous service improvement.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as an escalation point, troubleshooting complex issues across Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, and security platforms
- Managing and supporting Microsoft 365 tenants, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, and Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Deploying and managing devices using Intune and Autopilot, including policy design, application packaging, and compliance enforcement
- Supporting Azure workloads such as virtual machines, networking, backups, identity integrations, and hybrid environments
- Implementing and maintaining Microsoft security controls including Defender, Conditional Access, MFA, and security baselines
- Managing on‑prem and cloud infrastructure in line with security and best‑practice standards
- Supporting client networking environments (switching, firewalls, Wi‑Fi, VPNs, and WAN connectivity)
- Assisting with client onboarding, project delivery, and technology upgrades
- Educating end users and client IT contacts on new systems, cloud initiatives, and security best practices
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring a strong technical foundation and the confidence to work independently within a fast-paced MSP environment.
You will have:
- Proven experience as a Level 2/3 engineer handling a mix of BAU support and project delivery.
- Previous experience working in a Managed Service Provider
- Experience working with Ticketing and PSA tools (ConnectWise experience is highly desirable)
Strong hands-on experience with:
- Windows Server and Windows desktop operating systems
- Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams)
- Microsoft Azure (identity, compute, networking, backups)
- Microsoft Intune & Autopilot device lifecycle management
- Microsoft security services (Defender, Conditional Access, identity protection)
- Core networking concepts including VLANs, routing, firewalls, VPNs, and Wi‑Fi
- Network monitoring systems
- Backup and disaster recovery solutions
- VoIP / unified communications platforms
