Your new company
Our well-regarded Government client in Perth, WA requires an in-house Senior Legal Counsel on an initial 12 months fixed-term contract, with a potential of extension.
This fixed-term contract role is looking for someone to start as soon as possible over the coming weeks.
Your new role
As the in-house Senior Legal Counsel, you will work in a team of other Senior Legal Counsels, and provide in-house legal advice, public law and statutory interpretation.
You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing complex legal documents, including submissions, administrative decisions and statements of reasons and affidavits.
You will possess excellent communication skills with the ability to form strong working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.
What you'll need to succeed
A tertiary qualification in law
Admission to practise as an Australian Legal Practitioner
Hold a current practicing certificate
Prior Government sector experience will be highly regarded
Strong litigation experience and background in providing legal advice on the interpretation and implementation of complex legislations
At least 5+ years post-Admission legal experience
If you are offered this initial 12 months Fixed Term Contract position, you will be required to pass a few necessary background checks, a pre-employment medical and the ex-employer reference checking processes.
What you'll get in return
Dependent on skills and experience, an annual full-time salary in the range of between $150,000 to $190,000 + super

Whilst this position is ideally 5 days per week (Monday to Friday), please do reach out and apply for the position if you have the necessary skills/experience however are looking for a part-time position.
Our client is open to considering hiring this position on a part-time arrangement, however full-time work hours per week is their current preference.
