Our Federal Government client is seeking experienced APS5 Project Officers to support the delivery of key projects, change activities and frontline service improvement initiatives across multiple NSW and ACT locations. These positions play a vital role in contributing to strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, data analysis, reporting, and the coordination of organisational change programs.
Your New Role
As an APS5 Project Officer, you will work with a high level of autonomy, managing moderately complex tasks and engaging with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. You will support project and change initiatives by coordinating workstreams, maintaining accurate documentation, managing data and preparing high‑quality written materials. You will ensure information is captured, stored and communicated in accordance with governance, compliance and privacy requirements, while supporting improvements across systems, processes and frontline operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project initiatives with minimal supervision to meet agreed objectives, deadlines and quality standards.
- Coordinate projects and change workstreams, track actions, schedule activities and maintain accurate documentation.
- Prepare clear written communication, guidance material, reports and stakeholder updates.
- Enter, maintain and manage data across systems, ensuring accuracy, integrity and confidentiality.
- Analyse data and prepare summaries, insights and presentations to support decision‑making.
- Use SharePoint to manage documents, maintain records, and support communication and version‑control requirements.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to support project delivery and resolve routine issues.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and contribute to system and process enhancements.
- Manage competing priorities, escalate risks appropriately and maintain effective workflow with limited supervision.
Key Skills & Experience Required
- Ability to confidently liaise with internal and external stakeholders, clarify requirements and support project outcomes.
- Skilled at interpreting data, preparing reports, conducting research and presenting information clearly.
- Experience supporting change initiatives, coordinating activities, assisting with training and contributing to evidence‑based decision-making.
- Ability to support the coordination and delivery of moderately complex projects, track progress and assist with risk management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience developing briefs, guidance material, messaging and structured communications.
- Ability to maintain SharePoint sites, organise documents, support governance processes and ensure accessibility for staff.
- Experience using digital platforms and collaboration tools is highly desirable.
Eligibility
- Australian Citizenship is mandatory
- Successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
