Your new role

As a Network Officer, you’ll play a vital frontline role across the local transport network – supporting passengers, promoting safe travel, and providing clear guidance on ticketing and network information. This is an active, people-focused position where you’ll work in pairs and as part of a supportive wider team, contributing to a safer and more positive travel experience for the community.

• Deliver friendly, high quality customer service across the Translink network
• Educate passengers on ticketing products and network information
• Engage with the community, including school groups
• Check tickets and issue Penalty Infringement or Warning Notices
• Maintain a strong safety presence onboard services
• Complete daily activity and incident reports
• Respond calmly and professionally to a range of public interactions

What you'll need to succeed

• Strong communication and rapport‑building skills
• Confidence to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in challenging situations
• Conflict resolution and de‑escalation capability
• Empathy, professionalism, and a balanced approach to decision‑making
• Ability to follow procedures and work independently
• Professional presentation and a team‑focused mindset
• Competence in completing written reports

What you'll get in return

• A competitive base salary of $84,569.97
• Permanent full‑time employment with predictable rosters
• 4 × 9.5‑hour shifts per week on a repeating 4‑week block roster
• No overnight shifts and only one weekend per month.

Extensive paid training, including:

1. First Aid certification
2. Self‑defence and de‑escalation training
3. Translink Authorised Person training (9–25 March 2026), leading to Authorised Person status
4. Flights and accommodation covered for Sunshine Coast training (if travelling from another location)
