Your new role
As the APS6 Finance Business Partner, you’ll take the lead on complex financial management activities while working with a wide range of stakeholders.

You’ll manage financial support functions and contribute to budget preparation, financial performance monitoring, and reporting. You’ll apply your financial management expertise to provide detailed advice on government financial matters, interpret policy, and help guide strategic planning and project management activities.

You’ll build strong working relationships across the organisation, collaborate with subject-matter experts, and help design solutions to financial management issues. This role also involves prioritising workflows, coaching team members, and contributing to ongoing improvements within the team.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you’ll bring:
  • Experience in financial management, financial analysis or business partnering
  • Strong understanding of financial governance frameworks and legislative requirements
  • Ability to identify financial issues and conduct objective analysis
  • Confidence providing detailed financial advice to senior stakeholders
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, coach others, and support team capability
  • Experience contributing to policy interpretation, strategic planning, or project activities
  • Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
