As this leading engineering organisation embarks on an exciting period of expansion, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join the team on a 3-month temporary assignment. Your new role
In your role as Human Resources Business Partner, you will be the trusted advisor to senior leaders, driving both strategic and operational HR initiatives that truly make an impact. You will champion people strategies that align with business goals, deliver forward-thinking HR solutions, and navigate industrial and employee relations challenges with confidence. Your influence will shape policies, frameworks, and programs that strengthen workforce capability, foster collaboration, and elevate organisational performance. Working within the engineering industry, you will partner with technical teams and project leaders to support workforce planning and ensure HR strategies enable successful delivery of major projects.
Key Responsibilities:
· Partner closely with engineering leaders and project managers to deliver proactive, practical HR solutions that support technical teams and project delivery.
· Provide expert guidance on workforce planning for large-scale engineering projects, organisational design, and change management initiatives.
· Lead and resolve complex ER/IR matters, including investigations and case management, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and enterprise agreements.
· Deliver accurate HR reporting and workforce analytics to enable data-driven decisions for project and operational success.
· Champion ethical, contemporary people practices that align with organisational values and the engineering sector’s standards.
· Stay ahead of HR trends, legislative changes, and best practices, with a focus on their application in engineering and technical environments.
What you'll need to succeed
You will bring proven experience as an HR Business Partner in complex organisations, ideally within the engineering or technical sector. Strong knowledge of industrial and employee relations legislation is essential, along with expertise in performance and case management. In this role, you will primarily support the corporate function, partnering with the HR Manager across Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, IT, Commercial, People and Safety (approximately 550 employees). Your ability to influence and coach senior leaders will be backed by strong analytical skills, problem-solving capability, and exceptional communication, ensuring collaborative and high-quality outcomes.
