Our client is a local council, leading the way in digital transformation and the integration of AI technologies. With a strong focus on compliance, transparency, and public trust. They are looking for an Enterprise and Data Governance Manager for a 12 month contract with a potential extension.
Your new role
As the Enterprise and Data Governance Manager, you will lead the strategic and operational management of Council’s information assets. You’ll oversee the newly formed Enterprise Data Governance team, ensuring robust policies, frameworks, and governance mechanisms are in place to maximise the value of data. Key responsibilities include:
Driving excellence in records lifecycle management and compliance.
Establishing and maintaining governance frameworks that support data-driven decision making and responsible AI adoption.
Managing archives, document control, and audit processes.
Supporting cross-departmental data integration and quality initiatives.
Championing digital transformation and the adoption of new technologies.
Providing training and guidance to data owners, stewards, and custodians.
This role is central to enabling the clients smart city objectives and ensuring information assets are leveraged for strategic insights and operational excellence.
What you'll need to succeed
To thrive in this role, you will bring:
Tertiary qualifications in information management, data governance, records management, or a related discipline.
Relevant certifications or professional memberships (e.g. RIMPA, DAMA, CIGO).
Demonstrated experience in digital transformation and cross-departmental data integration.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders.
A values-based approach to leadership and a commitment to compliance with data privacy, AI governance, and cybersecurity standards.
A clear criminal history check.
