You will be joining a small family-owned construction company based in Western Sydney, with projects across residential, commercial, and civil sectors.

Your new role

As a Safety Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with WHS legislation and company standards across active construction sites. You will conduct site inspections, monitor safety practices, and provide guidance to site teams to maintain a safe working environment. This is a hands-on role requiring regular engagement with workers and supervisors on-site.

Key Responsibilities will include:

• Conduct regular safety walks and site inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance.

• Prepare and maintain accurate safety reports, records, and documentation.

• Investigate incidents and near misses, develop corrective action plans, and follow up on implementation.

• Deliver toolbox talks and safety inductions to promote a strong safety culture.

• Monitor and review Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and risk assessments.

• Liaise with site supervisors and subcontractors to ensure WHS standards are met across all activities.

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience as a Safety Officer within the construction sector

• Strong understanding of WHS legislation, codes of practice, and risk management principles

• Ability to work on the tools and communicate effectively with site teams

• Relevant WHS qualifications (Certificate IV or higher)

• A proactive approach to safety and the ability to influence positive behaviours on-site
