As a Team Leader – Asset Finance & Business Lending, you’ll lead a team of 16 specialists in our Post-Approval Operations, ensuring seamless loan documentation, settlement management, and security registration processes. This role is critical in enabling NAB’s Medfin and broader Business & Private Banking performance by fostering a culture of service excellence and operational efficiency.

What youll do

In this leadership role, you’ll oversee and guide a high-performing team responsible for post-approval processes for Asset Finance and Business Lending products. Your responsibilities include:

• Leading and coaching a team of 16 Advisors across document preparation, settlements, and client services.
• Managing workloads, resources, and priorities to meet service level agreements.
• Driving process improvement and operational efficiency through AOM and Control IQ principles.
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory and risk controls while maintaining exceptional customer outcomes.
• Supporting Relationship Managers and bankers nationally by enabling smooth post-approval fulfilment.
• Partnering with the Head of Business Operations on strategy, workforce planning, and stakeholder engagement.

Examples of how you’ll make a difference:

• Overseeing preparation of loan documentation for products such as asset finance, car leases, medical equipment, commercial mortgages, and term loans.
• Managing settlement processes and security registrations/discharges for business lending customers.
• Supporting bankers servicing medical industry clients with post-approval fulfilment for fit-out funding, goodwill loans, and drawdown facilities.
• Driving cross-skilling initiatives within a recently merged team to build capability and resilience

• Start Date: Early January for a 6 Month Temporary Assignment
• Hours: Monday to Friday, Business Hours, 100% Office based

• Leadership Experience: 3+ years in team leadership, coaching, and performance management.
• Operational Expertise: Strong understanding of lending processes and post-approval fulfilment.
• Process Management: Familiarity with AOM and Control IQ principles.
• Customer Focus: Ability to create a service excellence culture and support bankers in meeting customer needs.
• Technical Skills: Experience with systems such as Fis$cal and Finesse is highly regarded.
• Industry Knowledge: Exposure to asset finance or medical industry lending is advantageous.
• Personal Attributes: Resilience, prioritisation, problem-solving, and strong interpersonal skills.
