The Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) Service supports the frontline policing and corporate operations of SAPOL through the provision of ICT infrastructure and communication platforms, operational software applications, and support services. The Service is responsible for driving the ongoing evolution of ICT capability across SAPOL, through the delivery of high quality ICT change programs.

Program Delivery is accountable for the successful delivery of business outcomes from a large portfolio of projects. It contains both project delivery accountability as well as portfolio governance responsibilities to manage quality, risk and budget to optimise outcomes from the portfolio as a whole. SAPOL is undertaking a large complex portfolio of work across a range of areas including core infrastructure, business systems and digital transformation initiatives. This full portfolio has been broken into three sub-portfolios to deliver on the business outcomes.


Your new role

The Test Analyst is responsible for undertaking a full range of testing services and functions and working closely with other test analysts to deliver high quality testing and assurance functions for new and enhanced ICT systems, services and products. To meet the requirements of the Service the incumbent may be dedicated to a specific project, or work across a number of BAU and project activities.


What you'll need to succeed

Demonstrated experience in software testing across the testing lifecycle including the techniques for system and regression testing.
• Demonstrated experience undertaking defect management processes including in the investigation, documentation and resolution of defects.
• Demonstrated experience in the design, development and execution of system test cases and documenting test results in line with quality processes.
• Ability to work as a team member, set priorities and complete tasks within defined timeframes.
• Ability to adapt to changing technologies and to understand and apply new concepts.
• Knowledge of test standards, tools, methods and processes and practical experience working in an SDLC and ITIL environment.
• Demonstrated technical knowledge of functional and non-functional test design, processes and planning within a complex organisation.
• Sound oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical ICT concepts and technology solutions in business terms to technical and non-technical stakeholders and to develop documentation to a high standard.
• Ability to work under limited direction and exercise sound judgement.
