Your new role
In this position, you will be responsible for configuring cloud platforms and supporting teams in adopting the organisation’s AWS environment. The role involves implementing a broad range of AWS services and tools to strengthen the cloud platform and streamline deployment pipelines for applications used internally and externally. You will gain exposure to advanced cloud technologies designed to deliver secure, scalable, and cost-effective solutions. Collaboration will extend beyond cloud-native teams, requiring engagement with wider technology groups such as IT, networks, and business stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
Partnering with engineering and cloud teams to provide technical guidance and implementation support
Enhancing the cloud platform while ensuring project outcomes are not disrupted by infrastructure changes
Advising multiple teams on the effective use of new cloud services and capabilities
Ensuring compliance with security, operational, and cloud standards across deliverables
Promoting technical solutions within the team and to platform users
Identifying opportunities to improve processes and tooling
Delivering infrastructure-as-code and service development for internal systems
Adhering to organisational policies and procedures
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will bring strong knowledge of AWS technologies and experience designing solutions across diverse services. Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, C#, or C++ is required, with Python being highly regarded. Hands-on expertise with infrastructure-as-code tools, particularly CloudFormation and CDK, is essential, along with a solid understanding of CI/CD practices. Experience building pipelines using AWS CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, or CodePipeline will be valuable.
You should also demonstrate:
Familiarity with AWS security best practices
Exposure to ITSM/SRM/CMDB tools such as Jira Service Management or BMC Helix
Experience working in agile environments
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
A collaborative mindset and ability to foster teamwork
Self-motivation and the capacity to work independently
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
