A leading player in Australia’s commercial renewable energy sector is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their growing team. Specialising in solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and EV charging infrastructure, this organisation is driving innovation and delivering high-impact projects nationwide.

Your new role
This is a rare chance to work fully remote from anywhere on the East Coast of Australia, while contributing to complex renewable energy projects that shape the future of clean energy. You’ll take ownership of technical design and compliance for commercial solar and battery systems, manage grid connection applications, and collaborate with industry experts.

What makes this role unique? It’s designed to grow into a Lead Engineer position, giving you the opportunity to build and lead the engineering function as the company scales.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Design and develop commercial solar PV, battery storage, and EV charging systems.
  • Prepare high-quality SLDs, protection drawings, and engineering documentation.
  • Manage grid connection approvals and liaise with DNSPs.
  • Analyse smart meter data and model energy profiles for optimised proposals.
  • Oversee project delivery from design through commissioning.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a high-performing team.
About you
  • Degree in Electrical or Renewable Energy Engineering.
  • Current SAA accreditation (Grid-Connect PV Design; Battery Design preferred).
  • 5+ years’ experience in commercial solar PV and battery system design (100–750 kW).
  • Strong knowledge of BESS, PV, EV charging infrastructure, and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in PVsyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope, Pylon, and related tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
