The Opportunity

A national law firm is seeking a senior lawyer to join its 15-strong Banking & Finance team based in their Sydney office. This opportunity suits a seasoned practitioner ready to lead complex transactions, mentor junior lawyers, and shape the direction of a high-performing practice.

Your new role

• Lead and manage sophisticated banking and finance matters, including loan structuring, regulatory compliance, and transactional execution
• Advise clients on financial services regulation and risk management
• Draft, review, and negotiate key documents across a range of financing arrangements
• Conduct due diligence and assess legal risk across transactions
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering tailored commercial solutions
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders and contribute to strategic practice growth
• Mentor junior lawyers and graduates, supporting their development and performance

The Ideal Candidate

• Minimum 6 years’ post-admission experience in Banking & Finance law
• Strong expertise in PEXA transactional work and financial documentation
• Proven ability to manage complex matters and regulatory advice
• Exceptional communication and client service skills
• Detail-oriented, commercially astute, and collaborative in approach
