• Title context: Cloud Engineer working across public and private cloud infrastructure.
• Core responsibilities: Build applications for and deploy to cloud; manage AWS cloud controls including transit gateways and Terraform modules; develop Infrastructure as Code and deploy to large, secure cloud environments.
• Collaboration & delivery: Work with cross‑functional teams to map processes, re‑engineer workflows, and optimise cloud costs; operate in an Agile and DevOps‑focused environment; maintain and improve software assets while following change management and corporate standards.
• Resilience & ops: Support disaster recovery and availability planning, address operational risks, and identify automation opportunities.

• Technical skills: Strong Python and Terraform experience; strong AWS knowledge (preferred over Azure); working familiarity with Azure.
• Supporting skills: Intermediate experience with Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, and Django.
• Practical experience: Hands‑on examples of process mapping, re‑engineering, cloud development, and deploying at enterprise scale.
• Context fit: Experience in large government or enterprise environments; financial services experience is a bonus.
• Ways of working: Comfortable in Agile and DevOps practices and following corporate change-management processes.
