Your new role
As Senior Data Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing and delivering secure, scalable, and high-performing data solutions. You’ll lead technical initiatives, mentor junior team members, and collaborate across diverse ICT projects to drive data-driven decision-making.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the design and implementation of robust data engineering solutions
- Managing and enhancing enterprise data platforms
- Providing expert guidance across university-wide ICT initiatives
- Ensuring data security, reliability, and alignment with best practices
- Supporting service continuity and disaster recovery strategies
- Mentoring junior engineers and fostering cross-functional collaboration
What you'll need to succeed
- A relevant degree and extensive experience in data engineering
- Proven expertise with large datasets, databases, and ETL pipelines
- Proficiency in modern tools and platforms (e.g., AWS, DevOps, Power BI, GitHub)
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience with virtualised server environments and cloud-based architectures
Desirable skills:
- AWS Certification
- Experience with integration tools and platforms
- Familiarity with ServiceNow and Confluence
