Claims Officer (Fixed Term)

Hays Business Support is seeking an outstanding Claims Officer to join a highly respected organisation that provides exceptional service and support to individuals during challenging times. Due to an internal project, there is an opportunity to step in and support for an 18-month fixed-term placement. This is an exciting chance to become part of a passionate team, delivering quality, comprehensive claims management services.

Your new role

Based in the Launceston CBD, you will work for an organisation dedicated to supporting people through some of life’s most difficult moments. As a Claims Officer, you will be responsible for delivering high-level client management and claims support. You will be responsible for an individual portfolio and work collaboratively in a team setting.

You will be the essential first point-of-contact for external clients via phone and email engagement, working cooperatively and effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment, managing a variable workload. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Providing outstanding client service;
  • Working with our clients to understand their individual circumstances and how we can assist;
  • Assessing and processing claims in accordance with legislation, policies, and procedures;
  • Engaging with stakeholders;
  • Accurate and timely documentation and record-keeping; and
  • Working with confidential information.

What you'll need to succeed

You’ll have demonstrated experience as a Claims Officer or similar, along with:

  • Knowledge and/or experience in claims/portfolio management
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Good understanding of processes, and ability to pick up new procedures quickly
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Capacity to actively participate and work collaboratively within workplace teams
  • Demonstrated capacity to prioritise and complete assigned deliverables
