Your new role

An exciting opportunity has become available in a busy government department. In this litigation-focused role, you will be working in an interesting and fast-paced regulatory environment with competing priorities.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide clear, concise legal advice and representation to clients.

• Assist on a range of litigation matters.

• Analyse and interpret legislation and evidence to draft documents, including advice, pleadings, submissions and other court documents, briefing notes and correspondence.

• Research and draft advice and undertake representation, briefing counsel where appropriate to facilitate appropriate outcomes for the organisation.

• Assist clients and other key stakeholders on various matters and requests for advice to facilitate the exchange of information, completion of tasks and meeting critical deadlines.

What you'll need to succeed

• Admitted to practice as a lawyer in Australia
• Ideally, between 2–3 years PAE but open to suitable candidates who have more experience.
• Experience gained in prosecution or regulatory litigation would be highly regarded.
• A current practising certificate (essential)
• Experience assisting on litigation matters
• Ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment
• Previous experience in government will be highly regarded
