Drafting Manager

A Drafting Manager is required for a Brisbane-based Residential Construction company.

With a strong reputation for innovation and client satisfaction, the company is expanding and seeking a skilled Drafting Manager to lead its drafting team and drive excellence in design documentation.

Your new role

As Drafting Manager, you will oversee the drafting function, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of construction documentation. You’ll lead a team of drafters, collaborate with internal departments, and contribute to process improvements that enhance design efficiency and buildability.

  • Managing and mentoring a team of residential drafters
  • Overseeing the production of accurate construction drawings and documentation
  • Ensuring compliance with building codes, regulations, and company standards
  • Liaising with design, estimating, and construction teams to resolve design queries
  • Driving continuous improvement in drafting processes and systems
  • Reviewing and approving final documentation prior to submission

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in residential drafting, ideally in a leadership or senior role
  • Experience in managing and mentoring a team of people
  • Strong understanding of construction documentation and residential building codes
  • Proficiency in drafting software Revit is essential
  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines and deliver high-quality work under pressure
