Your new role
As the APS6 Project Officer - HR Coordination, you’ll be a key member of a small, collaborative team responsible for a broad range of corporate functions. This dynamic role offers variety, across HR, recruitment, work health and safety (WHS), learning and development (L&D), and office-wide coordination.
Key responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate broad corporate support services across HR, recruitment, procurement, WHS, learning and development and general office administration
Act as the primary contact for internal corporate enquiries and exercise judgement to provide accurate, timely advice on moderately complex operational issues or concerns
Maintain and administer corporate systems, registers, and procedures to ensure compliance with departmental policies and legislation
Support internal registers, including with onboarding and offboarding processes
Provide high-level administrative support to the branch, including managing shared inboxes, scheduling meetings, preparing documentation and coordination
Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation
Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Coordinate and contribute to projects within the section or branch to support strategic or operational outcomes
Preparing reports, briefings, and documentation to support decision-making
Ensure accurate and compliant record keeping practices
What you'll need to succeed
Australian citizenship and Baseline security clearance (or ability to obtain) is required.
Knowledge and experience:
Extensive experience delivering high-quality corporate, project, and administrative support in fast-paced environments
Experience across corporate service functions such as HR, recruitment, procurement, WHS, and office coordination
Sound understanding of governance frameworks and compliance requirements in public sector or similar settings
Skills and capabilities:
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and accuracy in managing records and reporting
Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset
Demonstrated judgement and initiative in resolving operational issues and improving processes
Resilience and adaptability, with the ability to work independently and support team objectives
Desirable:
- Degree or Diploma in Business, Administration, HR, Project Management or other relevant qualification
