Location: Northern suburbs of Perth
Pay Rate: $75–80 per hour + Superannuation
Your new role
As a GIS Specialist, you will provide expert support for the City’s GIS systems and spatial solutions. You’ll work across departments to ensure the health, performance, and continuous improvement of GIS platforms, while identifying opportunities to enhance service delivery through spatial technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and maintain the City’s GIS systems and solutions.
Collaborate with business units to resolve GIS-related issues and implement improvements.
Stay current with GIS technologies and trends.
Work closely with IT team members to support integration and system health.
Perform business analysis beyond GIS when required.
Liaising with spatial data providers such as LandGate, Nearmap, and other government agencies.
What you'll need to succeed
Proficiency in GIS tools such as ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, MapInfo, IntraMaps.
Experience with ETL tools like FME Flow/Form.
Strong understanding of spatial data formats, projections, and reference systems.
Familiarity with Microsoft platforms and Office products.
Knowledge of relational databases (MS SQL Server, Transact SQL) and ArcGIS Geodatabase models.
Understanding of web-based systems and local government processes (e.g., town planning, asset management).
Exposure to TechnologyOne systems is desirable.
