Your new role

As the Property and Leasing Coordinator, you will be entrusted with the strategic and operational oversight of a multi-billion-dollar property portfolio that includes community centres, parks, carparks, and commercial assets. This is a dynamic and hands-on role where no two days are the same.

• Proactively managing leasing and licensing agreements to ensure compliance, optimise asset performance, and deliver strong community and financial outcomes.

• Leading complex commercial negotiations and ensuring all agreements align with legislative requirements such as the Local Government Act, Retail Leases Act, and Crown Land (Reserves) Act.

• Coordinating road discontinuance transactions and overseeing property-related projects from inception through to implementation.

• Conducting in-depth research and analysis to support business cases and strategic decision-making.

• Providing expert advice to internal stakeholders, tenants, and external partners on a wide range of property matters.

• Maintaining and enhancing data integrity within the Property Management System (Planon).

• Contributing to the continuous improvement of property management frameworks, policies, and procedures.

What you'll need to succeed

To thrive in this role, you will bring a blend of technical expertise, commercial acumen, and a collaborative mindset. Specifically, you will have:

• A relevant tertiary qualification and/or significant experience in property management, leasing, acquisitions, or a related discipline.

• Demonstrated success in managing complex property portfolios, ideally within a government or infrastructure-focused environment.

• Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation and the ability to apply it confidently in a practical setting.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.

• Proven experience in negotiating and managing property agreements, with a focus on achieving balanced commercial and community outcomes.

• High-level analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement.

• Experience in road discontinuance processes within a government context will be highly regarded.
