Melbourne-based innovative education institution is looking for an Enterprise Security Architect to play a key role in a high-impact team, ensuring IT services meet confidentiality, integrity, and availability standards.
Your new role
Develop architectural standards and security guidelines across diverse technologies to strengthen the client’s security posture.
Assess security needs by analyzing business goals, conducting risk assessments, and evaluating platforms and integration challenges.
Advise stakeholders on risks and controls for services, applying best practices, policies, and disaster recovery strategies.
Help build threat models to identify key risks and guide the implementation of mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with stakeholders to report on security risks, incidents, and practices using data analysis.
Evaluate emerging security technologies to keep architectural standards and roadmaps up to date.
Stay current with industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST CSF) through ongoing learning and professional engagement.
Lead security awareness initiatives for staff, junior team members, and the broader client community.
What you'll need to succeed
Extensive experience in regulated environments (e.g. PCI DSS, NIST, ISO standards) with relevant education/training.
Strong understanding of ICT risk, security practices, networks, OS, applications, and cloud platforms; able to provide expert technical and policy advice.
Proven track record in designing and implementing security architecture frameworks with a focus on performance, reliability, and risk management.
Committed to high-quality customer service and stakeholder engagement.
Excellent communication skills, including documentation, negotiation, and discretion in complex settings.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address challenging issues.
Effective team player with sound judgement, initiative, and ability to influence and build consensus at senior levels.
