A progressive Canberra-based commercial contractor is seeking an experienced Site Engineer / Contract Administrator to join the delivery team on a $20M+ Commercial Project.
Your new role
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery team to ensure critical project milestones are achieved. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Interpret and apply construction documentation to guide site activities and ensure alignment with project specifications.
- Coordinate subcontractors and trades, manage construction sequencing, and monitor progress against the program.
- Conduct site inspections and quality assurance checks across structural, civil, and finishing works, including concrete, steel, and façade installations.
- Provide technical support and resolve design issues by liaising with consultants, reviewing RFIs and shop drawings, and ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and the NCC.
- Maintain accurate site records and documentation, including daily diaries, QA reports, ITPs, and progress photos.
- Manage material logistics and support financial reporting, including tracking deliveries, preparing progress claims, and assisting with variations.
What you'll need to succeed
- Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer or Contract Administrator on commercial projects, ideally valued over $10M
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and technical drawings
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to manage subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams
- Working knowledge of Australian Standards and WHS regulations
- Proficiency in construction software such as Jobpac, Aconex, or similar platforms
