Your new role
This newly created FP&A Analyst position is critical to the ongoing performance and strategic direction of the business. Reporting to senior management, you will play a key role in supporting decision-making, driving profitability, and enhancing business processes. The role offers exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to influence outcomes at both a local and group level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review sales plans (actual, budget, forecast, long-term) and analyse margins and variances.
- Conduct detailed margin analysis by month, customer, and crop.
- Construct, review, and present the Barley Gain Model, including reconciliation and analysis.
- Lead forecasting and scenario modelling to drive business performance.
- Deliver profitability improvement through analysis of key costs and trends.
- Perform variance analysis (actual vs forecast vs budget) with clear, succinct reporting.
- Engage and build rapport with local and overseas stakeholders.
- Provide total business support, including sales proposals, cost management, and data analysis.
- Analyse key P&L line items and report to the Finance Manager monthly.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and system integration (SAP, Hyperion, Phenix, CARL).
- Contribute to month-end reporting and maintain the fixed asset register.
- Perform inventory reconciliations and review inventory and freight accruals.
- Monitor and analyse KPIs, investigating variances and supporting monthly business reviews.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with stakeholders.
- Deliver financial analysis to support pricing decisions and business cases for new investments.
- Identify and evaluate commercial and operational risks and opportunities.
- Provide analysis of market trends and competitors.
- Drive process improvement and create new financial models as required.
- Support internal and external audits and ad hoc projects.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, Finance, or Economics. Postgraduate qualification of CPA, CA or CIMA is highly regarded.
- Experience with SAP and Hyperion is highly desirable.
- Strong financial modelling, analytical, and data gathering skills.
- Excellent commercial acumen and business understanding.
- Proven ability to manage internal and customer relationships.
- Advanced Excel and accounting software skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and consultative skills.
- Experience working with senior decision makers.
- Ability to think critically, display initiative, and provide solutions.
- Big 4 experience is highly regarded.
