Technical Sales Representative – Food Division

Your new role

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers in the food and beverage industry, providing tailored hygiene and cleaning solutions.

  • Identify new business opportunities and drive sales growth across assigned territories.

  • Conduct site visits to assess customer needs, deliver product demonstrations, and provide technical support.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of products and services.

  • Prepare and present proposals, quotations, and technical documentation to clients.

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform sales strategies. Provide training and guidance to customers on product usage, safety, and compliance.

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline progress using CRM tools.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A proven sales experience with the ability to manage customer and company expectations

  • A proven history of business development in an industrial chemical or food industry setting

  • An aptitude for problem-solving with the ability to determine solutions for customers

  • A strong technical background

  • A hands-on approach whilst in the field

  • The ability to prioritise and apply good time management skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong negotiation skills in assisting to close a contract

  • Preparation and negotiation of tender documents is highly desirable.

  • Strong experience in Food Safety and Cleanout Audits

  • Good understanding of Australia's food body authorities, including the federal entity Food standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ).

  • Strong experience in either food manufacturing, quality assurance, agriculture or engineering fields associated with food or agricultural industries.
