We have partnered with Mint Renewables, a leading developer of clean energy and storage projects across Australia, to find a Senior Development Manager for its growing operations in Western Australia. This strategic hire will play a pivotal role in delivering large-scale renewable energy projects, including wind farms, solar farms, and battery storage systems.
Your new role
The WA Lead Development Manager will develop and deliver quality large scale renewable energy and energy storage projects in Western Australia. They will be the main representative of Mint Renewables in the WA market, leading the liaison with local, regional and state stakeholders including landholders, government, agencies, customers, contractors, consultants and other suppliers. At a project level, the WA Lead Development Manager leads and manages WA development projects from origination to construction, engaging with internal and external stakeholders to optimise benefits and minimise impacts of projects. They will adeptly manage and balance the commercial, technical, social, environmental and economic risks and opportunities of the WA projects and assist with the management and reporting of the broader company portfolio of projects.
Lead and coordinate development activities across land, planning, environment, engineering, design, grid, delivery, operations, offtake and finance for the designated projects
Be the main representative for Mint Renewables in Western Australia, initiating and growing relationships with key stakeholders at local, regional and state level
Plan and monitor development activities for allocated projects through schedule, budget, plans and reports
Manage all key stakeholder relationships, including landholders, indigenous groups, community, government, regulators, financiers and offtakers
Working with the broader team, continually optimise project economics and business cases
Assist with assessing acquisition opportunities and projects in other jurisdictions from time to time
Plan and lead site prospecting activities including identifying, assessing and securing wind, solar and BESS projects in Western Australia
Prepare and present company and project information and reports to internal and external stakeholders
What you'll need to succeed
Extensive experience in renewable energy development (preferably wind farms, solar and storage)
Qualification or background in projects, engineering, finance, commerce or business preferred
Demonstrated experience in commercial negotiations, stakeholder engagement, community engagement, grid connection, offtake or construction strongly preferred
Demonstrated skills in key project management processes and tools such as project management plans, budgets, schedules, financial models, etc
Experienced at working with a high level of autonomy and being self-driven, with appropriate engagement with the project team and broader business
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confident presenter in small and large forums
