Are you passionate about social media and digital communication? Do you have experience managing multiple corporate channels and growing networks? If so, you could join a State Government department as a temporary Social Media Advisor. You’ll be part of a dynamic and creative team that delivers engaging and effective social media campaigns for the department and its stakeholders.
Your new role
As the Social Media Advisor, you will be responsible for devising concepts, strategies and plans for social media campaigns that align with the department’s objectives and policies. You will create and publish high-quality, relevant content across various platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube. You will monitor and moderate social media activity and interactions, respond to comments and queries, and escalate issues as needed.
You will also analyse and report on the performance and impact of social media campaigns using tools such as Google Analytics, Hootsuite and Sprout Social. In addition, you will identify and implement opportunities to improve social media presence, reach and engagement, while providing advice and guidance to other staff on best practices and trends in social media.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will have:
A bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, journalism or a related field
Demonstrated experience in a similar role in a corporate or government environment
Demonstrated skills and knowledge in social media management, content creation, analytics and reporting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style to different audiences and platforms
A high level of creativity, innovation and initiative, with the ability to generate new ideas and solutions
A strong attention to detail and quality assurance
A current National Police Clearance (NPC)
