The IS&T Service is responsible for the provision of IT, cyber security and communications services and is therefore vital to the achievement of SAPOL’s core objectives. In consultation with its customers, IS&T plans,delivers, secures and supports new and existing technology services.
Your new role
This role offers a unique opportunity to join SAPOL’s Information Security Branch, to lead the team responsible for delivering security architecture and engineering services to SAPOL’s technology programs and operational infrastructure.
This is an exciting time to be part of the SAPOL IS&T team, supporting major programs of work to deliver cutting edge technology to frontline staff. As a newly created role, you will be integral in setting the strategic direction of Security Architecture and Engineering within IS&T.
The Manager, Security Architecture & Engineering will oversee the design, development and implementation of security features and functions across the IS&T technology landscape and is the hub for all technical security advice across the organisation. This function embeds security into projects and programs to ensure that new digital capabilities are delivered in accordance with SAPOL’s security risk appetite and policies and frameworks.
What you'll need to succeed
- Demonstrated experience operating with significant autonomy and exercising expert judgment in the leadership and management of cyber security architecture and engineering functions.
- Proven ability to integrate security architecture and engineering activities into enterprise IT delivery and project methodologies.
- Extensive experience in developing and maintaining information security target state architectures, security reference patterns, and architectural governance frameworks aligned to business strategies and organisational risk appetite.
- Expert knowledge of contemporary cyber security frameworks, architecture standards and methodologies.
- Substantial experience leading, managing, mentoring and developing multidisciplinary teams of security architects and engineers.
- Strong working knowledge of government or large enterprise ICT governance processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
