An influential federal government agency is seeking a senior leader to oversee portfolio and performance functions within a national digital health transformation program. This role is critical to ensuring the effective delivery of digital health systems that improve access, safety, and outcomes across the Australian healthcare landscape.
About the Role
As Director, Portfolio & Performance, you will:
Lead a team of managers and analysts within the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO).
Develop and maintain frameworks for assessing health-related digital investments.
Collaborate with senior executives to prioritise initiatives that align with national health strategies.
Deliver real-time reporting on project performance, risks, and investment returns.
Influence governance and decision-making across programs that support better health outcomes for Australians.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic oversight of digital health portfolios and performance tracking.
Development of investment roadmaps aligned to healthcare priorities.
Engagement with internal and external stakeholders to support program delivery.
Management of complex, sensitive projects with national health significance.
Contribution to planning and reporting for executive and board-level governance.
What We’re Looking For
Proven leadership in portfolio, program, and project management within government or health-related environments.
Strong strategic planning and performance analysis capabilities.
Experience managing cross-functional teams and delivering outcomes in complex settings.
Ability to operate with autonomy and sound judgement in high-impact environments.
Qualifications & Experience
Tertiary qualifications in health, project/program/portfolio management, or related disciplines.
Certifications in Prince2, PMBOK, MSP, Agile or equivalent methodologies.
Demonstrated success in leading transformational programs under tight deadlines and competing priorities.
Eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance and national police check.
Australian Citizenship is mandatory.
