Our client is a government agency based in Sydney.


Your new role

· Carry out the design, development and build of an agreed set of new APIs within enhancement and modernisation Proof of Concept, connecting existing IMS and front-end website(s).
We focus on:
· Demonstrating viability across newly developed APIs connecting existing PIMS and front-end website(s)
· Identifying potential technical, development and capacity requirements in any wider API build beyond proof of concept
· Reduce any wider API build risk by testing existing assumptions and dependencies
· Documentation & Recommendations
· Create detailed API documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI and Postman
· Define usage patterns, authentication flows, and error handling
· Provide actionable recommendations for improving maintainability, usability, and compliance with best practices
· Deep expertise in RESTful API design, including:

What you'll need to succeed

· Strong understanding of API security standards:
· OAuth2, JWT, API key management
· Experience with API gateways and management platforms:
· Apigee, Kong, AWS API Gateway, Azure API Management
