Senior Procurement Officer temporary opportunity within state government.

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Procurement Officer to join their team on a 3-month temporary contract with the possibility of extension.

Your new role

  • Collaborates with business units to create and implement sourcing strategies that deliver long-term value.

  • Assesses potential opportunities and develops actionable plans to realise them.

  • Offers guidance on procurement planning, contract development, performance evaluation, compliance, and achieving value-for-money outcomes.

  • Develops request documents by consulting with stakeholders to define scope, specifications, and design requirements.

  • Contributes to the enhancement of procurement and contract management through tools and technology.

  • Facilitates evaluations of quotes and tenders, prepares reports, and maintains accurate procurement records.

  • Assists with dispute resolution, contract variations, renewals, performance monitoring, and governance.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in delivering compliant procurement processes across the full contract lifecycle, ensuring value-for-money outcomes.

  • Skilled in developing strategies and interpreting complex data to identify opportunities and support business transformation.

  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities, sound commercial judgement, and effective communication skills.

  • Experienced in analysing data from multiple sources to inform decision-making and identify key business opportunities.

  • Works effectively within teams and builds strong relationships with stakeholders to support shared goals.

  • Understands strategic objectives, adapts to changing priorities, uses resources efficiently, and delivers high-quality outcomes.
