Hays Townsville is pleased to partner with a state government department, who play a vital role in supporting the wider Queensland community in development and maintenance. They are seeking an efficient and dynamic AO3 Business Support Officer to join and contribute to a great team on a full-time 3-month temporary contract with the possibility of extension.
Your new role
As the Business Support Officer, you will effectively monitor and manage internal and external correspondence, incoming and outgoing telephone calls and ensure responses are provided within the required timeframe. Providing efficient and high standards of customer service in a fast-paced environment.
You will be responsible for:
- Willingness to work within a fast-paced environment with KPI’s and mechanisms to measure and monitor performance.
- Ability to connect with industry, local suppliers and internal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely and effective delivery of services.
- Demonstrate professionalism and be a positive contributor to a great team and culture while being prepared to perform recurring work.
- Be dedicated to customer satisfaction, and within boundaries, develop an outcome which achieves both customer and business objectives.
- Ensure high standards and accuracy when compiling documents and reports or updating records and information systems (i.e. in Ellipse and Microsoft Office).
- Demonstrate initiative and be a team player by appropriately handling enquiries of senior staff in their absence within expected timeframes.
- Develop and maintain procedures, manuals and registers while being a contributor to improving existing procedures.
- Effectively undertake general administration functions as required.
- High level Excel skills.
What you'll need to succeed
This is a busy role in a fast-paced environment, there will be constant interruptions, so time management skills are a must.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience working within a team to contribute to wider objectives.
- General administration and MS Office (Word, Excel) skill set.
- Good attention to detail/ Accurate data entry
- A professional and respectful manner when liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
