Your new role
As Principal Power Systems Engineer, you will lead a high-performing grid connection team, providing expert technical leadership across generator and grid connection projects. You’ll be responsible for delivering complex power systems modelling and analysis for solar farms, wind farms, BESS, and hybrid generators across Australia.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading grid connection projects through R0, R1, and R2 stages
  • Providing technical oversight and mentoring junior engineers in modelling tools (PSS®E, PSCAD, PowerFactory)
  • Managing project delivery and client engagement across multiple generator technologies
  • Navigating the generator connection process under Chapter 5 and 5A of the NER
  • Reviewing and validating technical studies to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Driving project sales and delivery within the power systems modelling team
  • Preparing access standards and negotiating with NSPs and AEMO
  • Leading stakeholder discussions and resolving technical challenges
  • Supporting proposal development and securing new projects
What you'll need to succeed
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical or Power Systems)
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in grid connection and power systems modelling
  • Expert-level proficiency in DigSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, and PSS/E
  • Strong understanding of generator technologies (synchronous and asynchronous)
  • Proven leadership in delivering complex grid connection packages
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to mentor and inspire technical teams
  • Deep knowledge of compliance, standards, and regulatory frameworks
