This government department is seeking a skilled and motivated IT Asset Support Officer to join their Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) Contracts & Assets Management team on a 3-month contract, with potential for extension based on business needs.
Your new role
As an IT Asset Support Officer, you will support IT asset and software lifecycle management. This includes database administration, software provisioning and licensing, customer service, and administrative support. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure accurate asset tracking and high-quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage IT asset databases, ensuring accurate data entry and updates.
- Support software provisioning and licensing, including monitoring usage and renewal processes.
- Provide administrative support for procurement and finance-related activities.
- Respond to technical/process enquiries and liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Prepare and distribute accurate reports on IT assets and software.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the IS&T team.
What you'll need to succeed
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in software provisioning and licensing support.
- Willingness to undergo a police check and sign confidentiality/conflict of interest declarations.
Desirable:
- Experience managing ICT asset databases (e.g. Hardcat).
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and report writing capabilities.
- Understanding of software license management (e.g. Microsoft Licensing Agreement).
- Familiarity with admin/finance support for software charges.
