This Federal Government organisation is seeking an APS6 Program Officer for a 3-month contract (leave cover). They are a national cancer control agency. They work to improve outcomes for people affected by cancer through research, collaboration, and policy leadership. You’ll be part of a passionate team making a real impact in the health sector.
Your new role
As a Senior Program Officer, you’ll support the Assistant Director in managing cancer research grants within a small, collaborative team. You’ll assess project reports, liaise with research institutions, and contribute to program documentation and reporting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and assessing grant project reports
- Managing correspondence with grant recipients and partners
- Supporting project planning, risk management, and reporting
- Drafting briefs, reports, and other documentation
- Maintaining accurate records in line with government standards
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in grant or project assessment (essential)
- Background in health research (highly desirable)
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Ability to work independently and use sound judgement
- Australian Citizenship (mandatory)
- Ability to work full-time (5 days/week, 37.5 hours total)
