Your new role
As the Senior Public Affairs Officer, you will lead strategic communication and engagement efforts to support the implementation of high-priority work. You’ll collaborate with internal stakeholders and industry partners to promote transparency, build trust, and ensure consistent messaging. This role is pivotal in keeping executive leadership, the media, and the public well-informed and engaged throughout the process.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading public affairs, media relations, and stakeholder engagement strategies
- Supporting any change in communication and reputation management
- Briefing and advising executive leadership on media sensitivities and public sentiment
- Drafting speeches, talking points, and key messages for executive leaders
- Mentoring team members and fostering capability in media engagement and issues management
Driving proactive communication aligned with the organisation's priorities
What you'll need to succeed - Proven experience in Media, Communications or Public Affairs
- Strong strategic communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent professional judgement and ability to deliver under pressure
- Ability to work collaboratively across diverse stakeholder groups
