A leading organisation is seeking a visionary Head of AI Engineering to drive its transformation through data, integration, and artificial intelligence. Your new role

This role blends strategic foresight with deep technical leadership. You’ll architect enterprise-grade solutions, inspire engineering excellence, and shape the organisation’s AI and data strategy. Your Leadership Will Span Three Domains:

• Platform Operations (~18 staff):
  Cloud infrastructure, enterprise data lakes, real-time analytics, integration middleware, and platform reliability.
• Engineering Excellence (~8 staff):
  AI-assisted development, R&D, developer experience, and technical standards.
• AI Products & Solutions (~20 staff):
  Data-driven software products, machine learning operations, and cross-functional delivery teams.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• 10+ years in progressive tech leadership, including 5+ at executive level.
• Proven experience scaling technical teams (20+ engineers).
• Background in digital transformation within large, complex environments.
• Strong stakeholder engagement across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Deep hands-on software engineering experience (Python preferred).
• Advanced cloud platform knowledge (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP also valuable).
• Expertise in data architecture, streaming analytics, and modern data stacks.
• Strong AI/ML delivery experience, including MLOps and responsible AI.
• Proficiency in cloud-native architectures, containers, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Enterprise integration, API management, and service-oriented architectures.
• Modern software delivery (CI/CD, agile, DevOps).
• Data governance, privacy, and compliance.
• Security monitoring, SIEM integration, and threat detection.
