Your new role

As Chief Actuary, you will spearhead the transition to a hybrid actuarial operating model. This is a rare opportunity to build a team from the ground up, shape strategic direction, and influence policy reform across workers' compensation and related schemes. You’ll be the trusted advisor to senior leadership, driving data-informed decisions and uplifting actuarial capability across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement a hybrid actuarial services model
  • Establish and lead an internal actuarial team
  • Provide strategic advice on scheme performance and risk
  • Develop actuarial models to support regulatory decision-making
  • Mentor and uplift capability across the organisation
  • Lead reform initiatives in workers' compensation and related schemes

What you'll need to succeed

  • Fellowship of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (FIAA)
  • Deep expertise in personal injury insurance or statutory schemes
  • Proven experience building actuarial functions and leading cross-functional teams
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
