Your new role
As Chief Actuary, you will spearhead the transition to a hybrid actuarial operating model. This is a rare opportunity to build a team from the ground up, shape strategic direction, and influence policy reform across workers' compensation and related schemes. You’ll be the trusted advisor to senior leadership, driving data-informed decisions and uplifting actuarial capability across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement a hybrid actuarial services model
Establish and lead an internal actuarial team
Provide strategic advice on scheme performance and risk
Develop actuarial models to support regulatory decision-making
Mentor and uplift capability across the organisation
Lead reform initiatives in workers' compensation and related schemes
What you'll need to succeed
Fellowship of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (FIAA)
Deep expertise in personal injury insurance or statutory schemes
Proven experience building actuarial functions and leading cross-functional teams
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Strategic mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
