Our client, a global telecommunications company, has an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager to join their team on a temporary basis. Support is required until the start of February and the successful candidate will be based in their Sydney CBD office. They offer hybrid working flexibility.
This role supports financial analysis and reporting of margin-related costs, focusing on the margin section of the P&L and balance sheet. It involves working with stakeholders to streamline and document margin-related accounting and processes.
Responsibilities
• Conduct detailed analysis of actuals and develop a finance playbook to clarify margin recognition across fixed device products.
• Document system flows and cost structures to support a comprehensive understanding of margin-related transactions.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to assess cost implications of new product launches and ensure gross margins are reasonable.
• Provide accounting guidance for new products and liaise with governance teams to align with group policy.
• Partner with logistics and network teams to improve inventory processes and ensure financial accuracy.
• Support margin assurance efforts by analysing issue impacts and helping design mitigation processes.
• Assist with ad hoc analysis and monthly reporting, offering insights into key drivers of financial movements.
What you'll need to succeed
• Holds a university degree and a globally recognised accounting qualification.
• Experience in the telecommunications industry is preferred.
• Able to work independently while maintaining clear and consistent communication.
• Skilled in delivering practical solutions to complex business challenges.
• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
• Confident in building relationships and collaborating across internal and external stakeholders.
• Capable of influencing change and adapting to evolving business needs.
Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with advanced understanding of relevant policies, technologies, and industry trends.
