Procurement Manager – Australia
A leading national food manufacturer is seeking a Procurement Manager to oversee purchasing across multiple sites. This permanent role, based in the Perth metropolitan area, offers the chance to lead a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment.
Role Overview
You'll drive procurement strategy across direct and indirect categories, manage supplier performance, and lead a team focused on cost, quality, and supply continuity. The role involves cross-functional collaboration, system improvement, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute national procurement strategy
- Lead and coach the procurement team
- Manage sourcing, negotiation, and contracting
- Build supplier performance frameworks
- Collaborate with Operations, Finance, QA, HR, and HSE
- Improve MRP/ERP processes and data discipline
- Monitor supply risk and implement contingency plans
- Track and report procurement KPIs
- Ensure supplier compliance with company standards
What You'll Bring
Essential
- Experience in senior procurement roles within the FMCG / food industry
- Strong leadership and strategic sourcing experience
- MRP/ERP proficiency and financial acumen
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills
- Agile, data-driven, and team-oriented
Preferred
- CIPS/MCIPS qualification
- Familiarity with cold-chain logistics and HACCP
