Your new role
This is a specialised position where you will complete tasks inclusive of, but not limited to the following;
- Support the governance and enhancement of risk management, assurance, and business continuity frameworks and policies through regular reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with business units to embed risk management into operational practices, foster a constructive risk culture, and raise awareness of governance principles.
- Assist in the development and delivery of key corporate documents, including strategic plans and annual reporting materials.
- Coordinate and oversee internal audit activities, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities.
- Maintain and manage a central register to track audit and review outcomes, monitor risk-mitigation actions, and ensure timely resolution.
- Prepare clear, accurate, and insightful reports for senior leadership and governance forums.
- Contribute to the development and testing of business continuity plans to ensure organisational resilience and preparedness for disruptions.
- Provide responsive support and advice to teams undertaking risk-related activities, and carry out additional duties as required.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you must have demonstrated experience in the following;
- Demonstrated expertise in risk management, internal audit methodologies, and public sector governance.
- Proven experience navigating governance frameworks and reporting cycles within the Commonwealth Government context.
- Skilled in executing internal audit and assurance activities to support compliance and performance.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with a strong focus on producing high-quality deliverables.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and organisational capabilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for varied audiences.
- Capable of working autonomously and collaboratively in fast-paced and evolving environments.
- Trusted to exercise sound judgement and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Committed to integrity and accountability, consistently delivering results under pressure.
This position is only open to Australian Citizens and you must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Federal Government Security Clearance (Baseline, NV1 or NV2)
What you'll get in return
This role is offered as an initial 6 – 12-month labour hire contract with the view to long term extension.
