Join this Council as a Net Zero Project Officer, where you’ll lead the delivery of key sustainability initiatives aligned with the Council’s energy management and sustainable buildings strategy. This is a dynamic opportunity to drive real change in asset performance and contribute to the Council’s Net Zero corporate objectives.
Your new role
Scope and specify capital works targeting environmentally sustainable design (ESD).
Develop feasibility studies and business cases for sustainable technologies.
Manage tenders, RFQs, EOIs, and oversee project delivery.
Support fleet transition strategy implementation.
Operational Energy Management
Provide technical advice and resources to staff on sustainable asset practices.
Collaborate with teams to implement energy management processes.
Maintain sustainability data systems and reporting.
Monitor and report on energy consumption and emissions.
Management Support
Ensure compliance with legislation and Council policies.
Deliver high-quality customer service and respond to enquiries.
Adapt to evolving organisational needs.
What you'll need to succeed
Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in ESD, engineering, facilities or energy management.
Proven experience delivering Net Zero energy projects (solar PV, HVAC, EV infrastructure, etc.).
Strong project and contractor management skills.
Familiarity with NCC/BCA and Australian standards.
Experience with BMCS and energy optimisation.
Understanding of building services and ability to define functional requirements.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Current driver’s licence.
Knowledge of indoor environmental quality and healthy building principles.
Familiarity with sustainable building tools (Green Star, NABERS, WELL).
Understanding of asset management principles.
